Resources for Key Stage 3 (ages 11 to 14)
Do you need a quick idea for tomorrow's lesson? Something to give a supply teacher? Or are you just looking for some fresh ideas? These downloadable resources provide ready-to-use documents, which you can print out and present to your class without any fuss. We have made the documents as plain as possible so that they will download quickly and print without any problems. There are no pictures or fancy borders, but as they are word processor documents you can readily modify them yourself.
We are grateful to the English Department at The Blue Coat School in Oldham for providing these valuable resources for English Online.
There are also links here to some other materials which provide ready-made lessons, such as our sequence on Twelfth Night, a unit comparing poems about London by Blake and Wordsworth, and two substantial extracts from our complete Key Stage 3 scheme of work. These are a Year 7 unit of at least five lessons on personal writing in diaries and letters, and an extensive Year 8 unit on The Tulip Touch that will last up to 10 weeks.
