Introduction
This section of English Online provides first-class resources all in one place on a range of classic poets, in order to save you the time and effort involved in hunting them down for yourself. In addition to comprehensive anthologies we provide glossaries, notes, biographies, background material and website links.
Five poets - Blake, Coleridge, Keats, Christina Rossetti and Wordsworth - receive detailed treatment, with all their significant poems online. There is a representative selection of the work of another twenty-three poets, complete with biographical information. Together, these make up the twenty-eight major poets published before 1914 listed in the English National Curriculum.
The compiler of this extensive selection is Jenny Green, whose Key Poets is published by Puffin.
